Can a shade disappear completely when it is up?
Close to it. A roller or cellular shade stacks into a small headrail that can be recessed into the ceiling or hidden behind trim, so with the shade raised you are looking at bare glass. If concealment matters to you, say so at the measure — it changes the mount, not the price much.
